Natural help for teething babies?
Alright, Shannon at Rocks in my Dryer is hosting a backwards Works-for-me-Wednesday. In other words, rather than suggesting my own tip or advice about a subject, I get to ask all of you about a question that is burning in my mind!
Here it is… how do you help (and cope with) your teething babies? And without constantly resorting to good ol’ Tylenol, as I want to stay as natural as possible (although as some goods friends of ours say, in relation to teething children of course, “when there’s dope, there’s hope”).
I’ve tried a lot of different things, a few of them work somewhat, but overall the days are still long and hard, the nights somewhat sketchy, and my production levels tend to drop to an all time low, only rivaled by the first trimester of pregnancy. Help me, please! 🙂
We used Teether Tablets. They are all natural according to the packaging. Should be able to find them at Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc
My 16 month-old seems to find that biting on a rubber spoon (a freebie that came with Gerber crackers one time) is very comforting. He’s chewed on it so much that it’s losing shape, but, as long as he’s not biting ME, I don’t care!
Someone else told me her baby liked to chew on cold, damp washcloths. I haven’t tried that one yet.
I use Hylands teething tablets. They are homeopathic and work like a charm for us. 🙂
I use Humphrey’s teething tablets, they are homeopathic as well. They work really well; most of the time, but unfortunately I do have to use the Tylenol sometimes.
We put a wet washcloth in the freezer, and once it’s frozen give it to our son to chew on.
