Houseplants
Houseplants do so much more then just look nice in someone’s home.
Because the air inside our homes can be two to five times more polluted than the outside air, houseplants can help to keep to keep us healthy by reducing toxins and purifying the air.
You don’t have to go to a green house or garden center to get a specialty plant for a gift. Lots of great houseplants are available in the floral sections of grocery stores.
I’ve purchased many of our family’s plants at big box stores, and they have thrived in our home with just regular watering.
So if you’re headed to a Christmas gathering and need a last minute gift, stop by the store and grab a houseplant or two.

eBooks
The great thing about eBooks is that you can purchase them and have them in your hands (well really, on your screen) to read them right away, so they make a perfect last minute gift!
Maybe you purchased the Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle last month and have some books that you’re not planning to read that you could give as a gift to someone who could use them!
Maybe there’s someone on your list that you would really like to learn more about natural and healthy living. My new ebook Green Your Life: A Guide to Natural, Eco-Friendly Living is perfect for someone just starting out on their green living journey.
If you have a bookworm on your list that is always looking for great new reading material, you can help them stock up on without adding to the clutter of having lots of books on hand.
And don’t worry, even if the person you want to give eBooks to doesn’t have an eReader, they can still read them on one of their other devices. You can find instructions for reading eBooks without an eReader here.

Experience Gifts
And don’t underestimate the simple, but meaningful gift of time.
For my birthday earlier this year, my sisters asked me what I wanted for a gift. After thinking about it for a few days, I realized the thing that would mean the most to me was just be able to spend time with them. We all live in different places, and I don’t often get uninterrupted time with them.
How wonderful it would be to just linger over dinner and dessert enjoying each other’s company!
I think sometimes we forget that one of the most precious things that we can give to someone is our time.
Uninterrupted, intentional time with people we love does not usually happen as often as it should in our busy and multi-tasking world.
So while I sometimes think experience gifts can be overlooked because they’re not a physical gift in your hands that you can open, the gift of time and an experience together could be more meaningful that any thing you could ever purchase for someone.
So for that person in your life that you haven’t gotten a gift for yet because they already have everything they need, and you’re at a loss for what to give them–give them your time. Plan a day where you just get to be together and spend time enjoying each other’s company.
What an amazing gift it is to spend precious time with people we love!
I hope that you and your family have a wonderful time celebrating the birth of our Savior!

I’m still pretty set on paperback books, but I do love Ebooks as well, especially since they are so quick and available! I read my Ebooks on the Kindle app (free) on my Iphone. I manage the books on my Amazon account and any PDF files I have I email to my kindle account and they add it to the app. Pretty cool! I think one last minute gift that always works is a basket of spoiling goodies for someone: basket + fluffy socks + candle + magazine + chocolate. That sort of thing! 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Love these ideas, Emily! You know eBooks are one of my faves!
Good ideas! However, I want to point out that anyone with a latex allergy might have problems with the poinsettia. http://www.webmd.com/allergies/news/20031124/latex-allergy-beware-poinsettias
