Only one thing is certain about life: change is right around the corner! Suddenlys is Sacred Signpost #6 and suddenlys can be both miraculous (think sudden blessings, healings, visitations from God, and such)and disastrous (think hurricanes, tornadoes, sudden deaths, and such)–or simply riveting change.
Years ago, in the midst of an enormous change that involved moving our young family from one coast of the USA to another (east to west), I trembled inwardly with the enormity of it all. I knew it was God’s will for our family and ministry (one day I will tell you more about that), but still–the move was huge and we had two little sons–a one-year-old and nearly three years old.
One day I sat at the hairdresser getting my hair trimmed, and three times she repeated to me: “Do NOT be afraid of change!” By the third time she said it, I knew these words came from a higher place than the hairdresser!
The word I received were timely and needed. And by the way: the Holy Spirit of God can speak whenever and wherever the need arises . . . if we are listening! Needless to say, Jesus repeated over and over again to His disciples’ words like these: “In this world, you will have trouble, but do not be afraid, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
My friends, I don’t know what challenges you are facing, but I encourage you: Do not be afraid of change. God is in all things and He will work all things together FOR GOOD for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Focus your heart on loving God first, above all things, and He will help, support, and eventually prove to you that His plans are good–even if you are afraid and even when things that happen to you are NOT at all good. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good! Trust Him!
