Apple Crumble

Ingredients

Filling:

  • 1 medium apple
  • 1 Tbl. organic raw sugar
  • 1 tsp. real vanilla extract
  • 1 small splash apple cider optional

Topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 brown sugar loosely measured, not packed
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon adjust to taste
  • 3-4 Tbl. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • Optional topping: fresh whipped cream

Instructions

  • Stir filling ingredients together, and fill two small ramekins.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the topping ingredients with your fingers until the butter and flour/oats are evenly combined and make small pea-sized clumps.
  • Add topping onto the filling.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375 F for 30-35 min.
  • Serve warm, topped with whipped cream, if desired.
